Mark Lewis

by admin

Mark started his career as a pilot in the Royal Australian Air Force. Over his nearly 12 years in the RAAF he flew several aircraft types and was involved in many operations supporting Australian defence interests, including humanitarian relief, search and rescue operations and domestic and overseas military operations, including areas of military and civil conflict.

In 1998, he joined the family business, Bernie Lewis Home Loans, started by his father Bernie in 1987, one of the first mortgage brokers in Australia and the first to pioneer mortgage broking in South Australia.

In 2003, Mark was appointed Managing Director of Bernie Lewis Home Loans.

From 2003 to 2005 he was the South Australian State President of the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia and subsequently National President and Chairman of the Association from 2005 to 2007.

Over the years Bernie Lewis Home Loans has won many industry awards including best mortgage broking business in Australia for three consecutive years.

In 2009 Mark was part of a consortium of investors who rescued the Adelaide 36’ers NBL Basketball team from bankruptcy and ensured the viability of professional basketball in Australia. He was the club’s Chairman for nearly three years whilst the club’s foundation was rebuilt to ensure a strong future.

In 2005, Bernie and his wife Christine were tragically killed in an aircraft accident whilst on holiday in New Zealand. As Executor of their estate, Mark’s job of dealing with their estate was made easier by the existence of the Green Box that Bernie had created, which contained all the documentation and information needed to make finalising their estate as easy as possible.

After nearly 24 years, Mark sold Bernie Lewis Home Loans and now spends his time consulting to small business, various board positions and presenting about the importance of the Green Box and the peace of mind it can provide to families after personal tragedy.

His personal passion project is to spread the word about the Green Box, what was in the Green Box, the importance of the Green Box and encourage every Australian family to have their own Green Box to provide security and peace of mind for families when the worst happens.

Steve Willis

by admin

Known all-over Australia as Commando Steve, Steve Willis is one of the country’s most recognised and respected fitness experts. He’s been working in the fitness industry since 2005, enriching people’s lives through fitness, mindset and nutrition.

After growing up in Queensland, he joined the army when he left school and over the next decade served in the Australian Special Forces. In 2004, he left the army to launch a new career as a fitness professional. Five years later, he came fourth in the World CrossFit
Games in California.

Steve became a familiar face on Australian television since putting contestants through their paces as a trainer on eight seasons of Channel Ten’s ‘Australia’s Biggest Loser’. Steve motivated, inspired and pushed contestants to levels of physical and mental fitness they never dreamed possible. He is also the author of three hugely successful books, 2010 No Excuses, 2015 Get Commando Fit and 2015 Get Commando Fit cookbook.

In 2018 Steve decided to challenge himself by joining Channel Ten’s first-ever series of Australian Survivor – ‘champions v’s contenders’. With a multitude of skills from his time in the Army and years in the fitness industry, Steve was completely at home with his primitive surroundings and relished the opportunity to live so freely without possessions and the usual creature comforts.

In recent years Steve has actively pursued a path of self-awareness. Through a great deal of self-education, listening, learning and practising, Steve now readily admits he used exercise as a means of escaping reality. Years later, leaving behind the ‘hard man of fitness’ character depicted on The Biggest Loser, Steve has removed his ‘body armour’, learned to enjoy life and embraces mindfulness in everything he does.

Whilst fitness and movement will always remain at the core of everything he does, Steve’s focus is now to utilise everything he has learnt from such a varied and contrasting life to others realise the importance of self-awareness in all aspects.
